Multi-rip saws

On multi-rip saws several line lasers can be installed above the blades, to give operators a clear visual guide of the saw path.

The laser lights, aligned with the saw blades, project the saw path onto the board at the saw's infeed table, helping operators to feed the board into the ripsaw quickly and accurately.

Use of this widespread technology assists operators in accurately locating and excluding defects from parts, minimizing edge strips, accurately burying the saw kerf into the defect area, and maximizing the width of random width parts.

Panel saws / Resaws / Circular saws
On panel saws, resaws and other woodworking machinery, a laser guide provides a precise visual indication of where the cut will be positioned on the workpiece.

Sawmilling
Laser guided technology is extensively used on modern sawmill equipment. A monitoring device will pick up the laser lines through a video camera and calculate the best position of the timber prior to the cut, to maximise accuracy and reduce material waste.

Portable sawmills
Green lasers are usually used on outdoor machinery, as they are brighter than red lasers and clearly visible even in daylight.
