Screen printing carousels
A cross laser installed at the centre of the carousel can help the accurate positioning of garments prior to printing. As the carousel turns, each new garment can be placed in exactly the same position as the previous one.
Sewing and embroidery
On industrial sewing machines, a dot laser can be used for pin point positioning.
Embroidery machines often require a cross or line laser to help place garments in an exact position on the frame. Line lasers can also be used to indicate the exact placement of buttons and pockets.
When working at close range, it is usually preferable to use red lasers with a 650 nm wavelength, a slightly deeper shade of red which does not cause disturbance to the eyes.
Spreading tables
On spreading tables line or cross lasers can help place several layers of fabric exactly on top of each other. That way when the fabric is cut to size, each layer will maintain the same pattern.
